Avaya Zang

Design for the Zang marketing website, a new communications company from Avaya.

The challenge

Zang, a new cloud communications company created by Avaya provides an intuitive development platform and innovative cloud communications for small to medium sized business. Working with the Faction Media team (their creative agency), we were tasked with creating a CMS marketing site introducing the brand and showcasing its products and services with a unique look and feel specific to the core values. 

Our solution

A responsive and CMS ready marketing website with a modern and conversational look and feel.

Approachable, conversational design

We created a friendly, conversational theme that engaged small businesses and avoided the typical “corporate website” look. We used easy-to-read typography, small business imagery, cool colors and gradients, a modern, clean site layout, and conversational language.

Modern, Fast, CMS ready website

The responsive website was architected using React, Express, and Node that could later be hooked into a CMS powered endpoint. The React app generates all content, components, and routes from a JSON response and renders server-side.

Brand Identity Document

A brand identity document was created with value proposition and creative styling guidelines.

Site design

A modern, friendly, and conversational design and content strategy that communicates to small businesses.

A clean design with overhead imagery of people interacting and subtle "Z" design elements like the table and contrasting section background patterns provide a unique brand look.
Simple pages with clear calls-to-action and contrasting sections for a focused information architecture.
Large, animated illustrations showcase the products while the "Z" background pattern subtly directs the user down the page.
Different color schemes for product pages help add contrast for better visual recognition.
A full screen overlay menu allows for many navigation options without overwhelming the eye.
Simple line-iconography adds a bit of visual aesthetics differentiating the site sections.

The Zang website walkthrough shows some of the key screens and interactions as well as how the final content and imagery evolved from initial style tile concepts.

The Results

The Zang team was pleased with the website information architecture, content strategy design and development framework. We were able to stay within the budget and timelines for a successful release. Specific revenue and site engagement metrics are not available.
